Many people believe that confusion is normal but they have fallen right into the enemy’s trap. The Bible says that God is not the author of confusion, but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). How then is it that so many believers are walking around with their minds filled countless thoughts of uncertainty, chaos all around. There are many believers who are not walking a clear path simply because the enemy has confused their minds between good versus evil, right versus wrong, left versus right, or stay versus go. It is time we take back our minds from the one seeks to destroy them and live in the peace that Christ was wounded for us to receive. Read on to figure out how.
The Enemy’s Plan:
Biblically, we can see that the devil has done a lot of damage through the works of chaos and confusion. In the garden, the enemy came to Eve with a question. Why? To get her to begin to question the validity of what God had previously said- the truth. Questions can open the door for confusion and the enemy knows that! In Exodus, the people start to question and wonder what was taking Moses so long on the mountain, that instead of holding on to faith, they decided to make their own idol image to worship. Throughout Jesus’ ministry on Earth we can also see how the religious leaders tried to trap and confuse Jesus by the questions that they asked Him.
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
The enemy wants nothing more than for you to question God, or even yet question yourself, getting stuck in day-to-day thoughts that cause you to make no movement in your life.
Not only does the enemy use confusion alone to destroy God’s people, but he will also pair confusion with another spirit to evoke more damage.
Fear- to leave you crippled
Doubt- to leave you uncertain
Unbelief- to make you feel there is no way out, even if you receive a good word
Distraction- to keep you busy and avoiding the truth
Anger- to leave you frustrated and potentially turn you away from God
What Confusion may look like in your life
Hearing a word from God, and then questioning if it was really from Him. You may also even question every little detail of the Word until it leaves you unsure of all of it
Needing to decide whether to pursue a career or not, and feeling confused on which direction you should take
Making a decision and then something comes in your path that sounds like a good idea, which leaves you uncertain to continue with your first plan or the new one
Democrat or Republican; voting or not voting
Spending money on a large purchase, versus putting it into your savings
Alot of these things can be resolved through wise council, however the goal of confusion is to leave you stuck! Many people even after receiving wise council are still left unsure with which way to go.
Strategies of Deliverance
Now that you know what the enemy’s plan is against you, you need to take action before this becomes a life long cycle. You, and every believer have already been given the keys to victory, but that does not mean that the enemy won’t try to fight you so that you don’t use your keys. The only use that keys have is when they are placed inside of a lock and used to gain access or close access. Holding onto the keys won’t help. You need to put this into action!
Step 1: Repent of allowing the spirit of confusion to enter into your heart to confuse you. Confess to God that you want no parts of confusion and want to receive the freedom He has granted you.
Swap these below to show how the enemy gets into your mind so that he can access your heart
Step 2: Ask God to remove confusion from every place in your heart and give Him time to do it.
Do not rush your deliverance by getting up and doing something else or being distracted by other thoughts. God will not distract you or disrupt your deliverance!
Step 3: Ask God to also remove confusion from your mind and give Him time to do it
Step 4: Ask God to close both the gates and doors that confusion entered in through and give Him time to do it
Gates and doors are both points of access that the enemy gains access to us through. Think of it in terms of cause and effect. The enemy will use something against you, like a fear for example, in order to bring about the effect that he desires.
Keeping your heart and mind clean
Scripture says to be sober and be vigilant, in other words be aware and be vigilant. As seen in my other blog posts, I speak about how it takes our whole self to be clean in order to even further overcome the enemy. Spiritual is essentially, but physical (nutrition) matters as well. If your body is loaded down with junk food, how can you be alert and vigilant against the enemies in your life. No, you will instead be sluggish and too tired to put up a fight.
Take care of your body and rest. Pray often and make your decisions sure and quickly. Trust that God will speak to you as you need His input. If He gives a word don’t doubt or allow any questions, just follow or wait as He says wait. Remember: His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9) so it may not make sense to you and that is okay. Afterall, our lives are run on faith!
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”
